Daily Activity 3-1 (Hotel Gammara)
Hello guys, another post has been up. Well,
everything has been up lately on this third week. So, I hope you wouldn’t get
bored knowing all of the things that I do in the kitchen. Wait for a second; I
used to tell you guys about my activities at the Kitchen in Poltekpar, yet a
brand new thing happen on this third week. Uncountable new experience I have
got during my duty at the kitchen in Gammara Hotel, Makassar. Basically every
practice week, there will be ten students have a practice in Gammara hotel, hence
this week was my group turn. At 7.20 in the morning we went to the office and
we had our sections given by the Demi Chef, Chef Sofyan.
Intan
and I got Pastry section, and fortunately this the section that I really
desired. Afterwards, Chef Sofyan invited us to look around the hotel. First of
all, we went to the Pastry and Bakery, Main Kitchen, Cold Kitchen, Banquet
Section, Ballroom, Lobby, Swimming Pool, etc. We moved back to our own sections
immediately, and I saw Kak Ririn was making macaroon. I approached and asked
her if there was anything I could help. She told me to give Icha an assistance
to make Putu Ayu. Once it was finished, I got a task to make Kue Lapis.
We
had general cleaning while waiting my Kue Lapis was ready and Icha made the
dough for Putu Ayu. It felt like just a blink of an eye until we were allowed
to take a break and have lunch at the nearby canteen. At 13.00 pm, I came back
to the kitchen and my eyes caught a chef was curving a watermelon in the cold
kitchen. I helped Chef Salam to make Bika Ambon in pastry section, and helped
Kak Ririn to make Oreo Cheese Cake afterwards. Intan and I had to separate the
biscuit and the cream, and we had to crush it down whilst preparing other
ingredients. When the cheese cake dough was mixed up, Intan and I asked Kak Ririn
if we wanted to go home since Chef Sofyan had allowed us to go home.
