Today we were told to
come at 7 am and I was a little late coming to campus so the time I came to the
kitchen my friends already oneline in the cold kitchen. We were told to come
early because Kak Chris wanted us back to know the ingredients in the
ingredient store, since yesterday there is the problem of my friends could not
distinguish what it was Ginger and Kencur. So Kak Chris will explain again the
difference of Ginger, Kencur, Galangal and Turmeric. Then we will also be
explained on olive oil, sesame oil, and others.
So the difference
between Ginger, Galangal, Turmeric and Kencur is, Ginger has a shape like a human finger joints, has a
distinctive fragrance as on wedang round, Ginger or Ginger candy. Ginger also
has a slightly spicy flavor and give a warm effect when eaten. Part in Ginger
having fiber fairly soft. Then Galangal has a rough skin texture and has a
scent that is not too strong. The flesh tends to be harder and more fibrous. In

efficacy in treating skin diseases.
Turmeric is widely used as a herbal medicine and combined
with tamarind fruit, tamarind turmeric then so be it. Orange yellow turmeric
and has a texture that overtime and easily when sliced or grated. Yellow
color of turmeric is often used for food coloring. Turmeric also has properties
as a medicine for the digestive tract. And last is Kencur have typical skin

but softer. Kencur is often used if you want to cook Sayur Bening, and others.
